Baume et Mercier vs Longines?

im trying to decide on what watch to get for my wedding. My choices are a black dial Longines Dolcevita (L5.655.4.76.6 ) or a black dial Baume et Mercier Hampton Classic (MOA06866). The Longines in almost US$ 200 cheaper than the Baume et Mercier. Looking for help from someone who realy knows watches. I have been selling watches for 17 years now.

Although Longines is probably better known in the high street, Baume et Mercier are a higher quality.

I actually had the opportunity to visit their manufacture in Switzerland a few years ago. They share offices with Piaget (one of the luxury watch/jewellery makers) and I know they do share 'some' of the manufacturing processes.

Longines are a well established company with a lot of backing from their holding company, but a lot of their movements are mass produced and for me that brings them down a level.

Go with the Hampton. If your budget can stretch a bit further, go for an automatic model.
