How do you know what the best watch size is for your wrist?

The trend is large watches with diameters of 43mm + for higher end luxuty watches.

I'm eyeing a Breitling and think 43mm is the perfect size.

Are there any general rules of thumb when getting the right size diamater watch for your wrist?

There are no rules. It's only recently the diameter of watches has increased with fashion trends. I own many watches and when I buy them, the basic rule is does it look nice, does it have the right display for me, date,chronograph, color, and is it a leather of metallic strap.
