Is it difficult to get a firefighter job in a city in which you are not a citizen?

I am a paramedic student about half way done with my program. When I am finished I would like to re-locate to a new city. I want to be part of an EMS system that answers 911 calls and wouldn't mind doing the firefighter thing. I was wondering if anybody knew if it would be difficult for me to accomplish this or if a re-location is easier than I am suspecting? Thanks for your time!

It really depends on the city. Some places require you to live within the city limits to work with their emergency responders.

I would research the specific cities you are considering.
