So if you think Joe Wilson is right - whats your solution to stopping illegals from getting healthcare?
How do you presume to stop illegals from getting healthcare? Show a national ID card? Have everyone who is a citizen carry proof?
The problem is that the Right would go nuts if we all had to carry cards to prove citizenship (and I agree - bad idea), but they propose to separate out illegals somehow.
Undocumented people often have fake SS cards and numbers.
And the law right now guarantees them free care in Emergency Rooms, as should be the case. That wont change with any bill.
EMTALA ensures that people who need emergency care get it - and only at a facility that offers emergency care - like an ER.
It isn't like illegals can walk into a doctor's office and get free care for the common cold or a splinter.
This healthcare bill won't change that.
