Why are cons so fervently opposed to the health care bill?

Don't they know it's the same thing Republican Mitt Romney passed in Massachusetts, almost the same as the health care reform bill Republican Bob Dole wrote when he was in the Senate and very similar to the bill written by Republican President Nixon?

Many Republicans would have gladly assisted and supported the Health Care Law. A great amount of the things in the bill were in fact submitted and supported in previous years by Republicans and their help with this law would have been greatly appreciated and helpful. Unfortunately the GOP said, even before the bill was drafted, they would fight the bill and do everything they could do to see it fail. Those Republicans who would have liked to help or provide usable input were prohibited by the GOP from doing so.
The Democrats did it right; draft the bill, review it, debate it, modify it, negotiate it and get it passed. That is why they were sent to Washington. Seeing what has to be done, knowing what has to be done - and doing what has to be done is leadership.
In contrast, the GOP refused to allow any Republican
Representatives from participating in drafting or negotiating the bill. The Republicans just fell in behind the GOP leadership and refused to help out. Falling in and just following along doing what you are told to do makes you a follower; That is not why we sent them to Washington.
