I have a Cruise Control problem. Vauxhall says it's probably the ecu - £700!?
Car is a Vauxhal Omega 2.5 TD Elite. Previously Vauxhall have "checked" the ecu,and it has then worked. Cruise control has just stopped working again, but nothing obvious (fuses etc). Please can anyone offer advice? Thanks.
Vauxhall will be talking crap... the cruise control box is ENTIRELY separate from the main ECU on all Omegas & Vectras.
Although the 2.5TD is a 'drive by wire' throttle - not a standard cable from the accelerator, but the cruise unit is the same throughout the range...petrol or diesel. It's located at the drivers side - below the expansion tank...it'll have an electrical connector & also a cable to the throttle on it. Check the connector and also the switches & connector on the indicator stalk. If it's failing to switch on / maintain check ALL switches including those on the brake and or clutch pedals. (Waaaay up the pedals).
