Petek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph 5960R

Three years after the launch of the 5960P, a venerable annual calendar chronograph, Patek Philippe launched a new 5960 watch – 5960R as it is presented in red gold.

The 5960R displays an amazing contrast of red gold case and silver dial and thus looks more luxurious and nostalgic. The original 5960P seems to feature a slightly touch of sport with a kind of cool and casual elegance. For some people, the 5960R with the so called “softly retro” is a perfect dress watch. But Personally, I love 5960P better than 5960R as white metals appeal me much more, though 5960R is not half bad. Anyway, the justice is in your eyes.

The 5960R is mechanically the same as the 5960P. Just For people who are not familiar with 5960 watch: The 5960R displays day, date and month at 10, 12 and 2 respectively. The power reserve (55 hours) indicator is under 12 o’clock position. It is named annual calendar watch is because the movement is equipped with a mechnism that can automatically calculate days of each month. An annual calendar needs adjustment only in February during leap year. The 60 minute and 12 hour chronograph is displayed through red hand and blue hand respectively on the so called monocounter at 6. There is also a day&night indicator inside that counter.The above functions are supported by Patek Philippe CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H with 456 individual parts. This self-winding movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. You can admire the charm of this complex and ingenious movement though the crystal caseback.

Like 5960P, the 5960R is completed with hand-sewn brown strap but with rose gold buckles. It is also water resistant to 30 meters.
