Rolex a good investment?

I heard that Rolexes are a good investment. Is this true or is the salesperson just trying to get me to buy one? Does that mean that they increase in price more than the cost of inflation? If so, at what percentage of the retail price can I sell a used Rolex for? I'm trying to decide whether or not to get a Rolex Submariner Datejust. Is buying a Rolex from an established, but unauthorized, dealer okay?

The salesperson is just trying to get you to buy one. Don't expect the Rolex to appreciate in value.

I would be wary about buying from an unauthorised dealer.
