Who makes watches?
I heard that only three companies worlwide make watches these days, two in China owned by the Japanese companies of Casio and Seiko and one in Switzerland known as Swatch, and that all other watch companies simply buy working mechanisms from them. Is this true?
That is definitely not true. Rolex and other Swiss movement time pieces are made entirely in Switzerland. Most cheap watches are made in China and the higher end less expensive models are made in Japan.
