Broken Swatch Watch?
I bought my boyfriend a Swatch Watch, the Happy Joe Blue, about a year ago. (http://store.swatch.com/forhim/watches/page/1/YGS400GX)
Apparently, he cracked the face and when I called the company, they pretty much told me I'm out of luck because they don't fix the face (what they call "The Crystal"). They said it was laser sealed and they can't put it on or take it off once the watch is made. It doesn't make any sense. How do you have a watch company and make them unfixable? Ridiculous.
Does anyone know where I could get it fixed, or if it is even possible for a jeweler to do it? I can't seem to grasp that I bought an unfixable watch when all the broke was the FACE, when the watch works perfectly fine.
If anyone had a situation with Swatch, had one fixed, knows a place in the NYC Metro area, please help me with some answers.
I'm so upset about this and everything involved. Any help, please.
I have no experience on point but Swatch's website confirms that the crystal is laser attached and non-repairable by them. I suspect what they're really saying is the repair would cost more than the watch.
You can try sending it to a place like www.swatchrepair.com or talking to a watch repair person. I doubt you would find anything locally.
I feel your pain. A gift watch has a lot of sentimental value.
