What is wrong with my Tag Heuer Watch?

Hi all,
I've got a Tag Heuer 2000 Professional Women's watch (code: WM1312)... a few days ago the second hand stopped moving. I thought i might need to change the battery.
Yesterday, I wound the dial a couple of times and now the second hand moves again but only in 5 second intervals.

Does anyone have any clue whether I do need to change the battery or do I just need to wind the watch?

Forgot to mention its a quartz watch.

Battery normally needs changing every 5 years, you have to send it off for a new one, but normally back in a week or 2, so if yours is 5 years old its probably is that, take it to where you got it from or someone that deals with Tag and they will send it away for you, normally costs between £50-80
