Why are conservatives alright with the patriot act and spying in general?

Its a clear violation of the forth amendment and FISA is just a power grab by the bush administration to broaden the power of the executive branch. I haven't seen a president use so much authority since nixon. I think its terrible that conservatives flip-out when us liberals question why they need automatic weapons, but are ready to be fear-mongered into believing that unless they give up there freedoms there not safe.

republicans have a deep need to control you - they are authoritarians, not all conservatives go for this crap. Trying to limit guns by federal law is also an authoritarian tendancy
