How to clean a cloth/embroidered Swatch Watch band?

I have several Swatch Watches with cloth embroidered bands. I've been unable to remove them. Has anyone successfully cleaned them? Thanks.

take them to a jeweler to remove them, then wash them in a lingerie bag in the washer, lay them out to dry.
