Help! I've got my pictures for my trading cards, but designing the names is tough (I got photoshop 7.0) sugges?

suggestions? Like all the cards I see have a gold foil on it, so that's probably out of the question. I just need it to look hot. and I want a gold color. How can I find a gold color or make a swatch? thanks

Making a gold effect is more than just color.. it's getting the right highlight and shadow.

Make your text yellow... not bright yellow, a little darkish. Then double click that layer, and click "bevel" - it will give a 3d effect. Now, it'll default to a yellowish color for the highlight, but you want it to go MAX! so make it a bright yellow. Make the shadow color barely there - gold reflects a lot, so there shouldn't be a reason for a huge shadow. Now, bring the size down to like 1 or 2... you don't want the effect to be gigantic.

Then, select "gradient overlay" - it'll go black and white for a sec, but just use the dropdown box to say "overlay" instead of "normal" - it'll give it a glossy look to it. You can make the opacity go up or down depending on how extreme you want that effect.

Good luck! It won't look perfect, but it won't look horrible, either!
