To tell you the truth, I don't really like watches. Especially if you're going to pay that much for one. They're basically useless these days, since most people have cell phones. So it seems like the only real reason people wear them is to show off, or look important.
Does he like watches? Has he mentioned this brand to you? If not, you may want to reconsider what to get him. I won't make any suggestions, but if you just google "gift ideas", there are a ton of sites that offer creative gifts.
